General Motors Corp. reportedly is relocating a sales office to Danbury from its current location in Somers, N.Y., taking 26,000 square feet of space at Matrix Corporate Center.
GM expects to have 80 employees at the office, according to the Danbury News Times. The building is owned by Matrix Realty Group Inc. of Smithtown, N.Y.
Matrix also signed reinsurance company White Mountains Re Group Ltd. to a new 10-year lease for more than 4,000 square feet of space at Matrix Corporate Center in Danbury.
The Bermuda-domiciled company has its main U.S. office in Hanover, N.H., and underwrites catastrophe reinsurance sold to other carriers. In the second quarter, the company reported net income of $2.5 million not including changes in currently valuation and unrealized gains from investments in other entities.

Five take third of Stamford property
Five businesses have taken more than 6,000 square feet of office space at 2009 Summer St. in Stamford, a 19,000-square-foot building owned by the Field Group, which hired Colliers International to handle lease negotiations.
The largest transaction was a sublease for GC Infotech L.L.C., an information technology consulting company, which took 2,800 square feet on sublease.
New leases included smaller offices for audit services company Pinpoint Profit Recovery Services Inc.; Liberty Partners Financial Services L.L.C.; Greenan Capital Management L.L.C.; and senior assistance services franchisor Assisting Hands Home Care L.L.C.
Panera takes space in Westfield mall
Panera Bread is taking more than 4,000 square feet of space at the Westfield Trumbull Shopping Mall, in a deal brokered by Stamford-based RHYS Commercial.
The Trumbull mall is wrapping up a $25 million renovation that includes an overhaul of its dining terrace, entrances and other areas.
