Circus takes over Palace Theatre in Stamford

Run away to the circus, if only for a day in Stamford this month.

In the classic parlance of the Big Top, “kids of all ages” are invited to see the action on the main stage of The Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic St., at 11 a.m. July 22.

The one-time show is run by the National Circus Project. Tickets are $10.

With a nod to potential interest from circus-starved businesses, group rates are available.

The National Circus Project, based in Westbury, N.Y., was founded in 1984. In 1990 it received a U.S. congressional commendation for promoting international cooperation and understanding.

In a statement, the Palace said, “Experience a cavalcade of capering clowns, gravity-defying acrobats, dazzling jugglers, breath-taking aerialists, hula hoop artists and more when The National Circus Project brings its 40-year tradition of thrilling and entertaining audiences to Stamford for one performance only.”

The theater recommends parking in one of three nearby sites: the Target, Summer Place or Bell Street garages.
