Amid budget crunch, Conn. officials look ahead
While government officials work to close the projected $365 million budget gap for the 2013 fiscal year, officials are also seeking proposals on how to make the cost of government services and goods more effective.
In a request for proposals from the Office of Policy and Management, officials say they are looking for ways to close the projected budget deficit beginning with the 2014 fiscal year, through expert advice and analytic support. Proposals are due Jan. 11, 2013.
Though the projected budget gap for 2013 is set at $365 million, the amount is expected to grow to $1,180 million by the end of the 2014 if not addressed.
