Adler redesigns her business model with an eye on smaller projects

Olga Adler has come up with an eye-catching name for her new interior design service focused on those who don”™t want a full-blown redesign project; it”™s called Rent-My-Eye.

Adler, who owns Ridgefield”™s Olga Adler Interiors L.L.C., repackaged her interior design skills in light of the downturn in the economy.

“I have been getting calls from people looking for help with just one room or a specific aspect of a design project like color scheme, rugs or lighting,” Adler said. “They want to shop for deals online, in catalogs or in retail stores, and they look for advice so they can avoid costly mistakes. Most of my clients are still doing big projects, but I”™m sensitive to how the economy is pressuring families and small businesses, so I wanted to also offer a practical alternative to full service.”

Rent-My-Eye is a decorating service for homeowners and small businesses owners who would like professional interior design advice at low rates, and on short notice, without the cost and commitment that comes with a full-service design project.

Adler said the three-hour package was conceived for homeowners who would like design direction they can later use while implementing the vision at their own pace and within their budget.

Even in a good economy, this is a time of year when people get what Adler calls the New Year”™s Decorating Blues.

“You take down the holiday decorations, put up a new calendar, and the space looks a bit empty, like it”™s missing something, and you”™re not sure what, and the dreadful weather doesn”™t help,” Adler said. “You”™d like to completely redo a room or the whole office, and that”™s when the panic kicks in, especially in today”™s economy. ”

Adler said she is able to help clients see their homes or offices in a new light through what she calls “careful editing,” and by spicing things up and re-energizing a space with strategically selected accessories or new paint colors.

Adler”™s advice covers floor plans, color schemes, furniture, window treatments, floor coverings, art placement and accessorizing. She said she creates the best path for design direction to suit a customer”™s individual space and needs.

“Then, you do your own shopping, so there is no obligation to purchase anything during or after your Rent-My-Eye session,” she said.
