Ability Beyond Receives $30,000 from FCCF

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation provided a grant of $30,000 to Ability Beyond, based in Bethel, on July 3.

Ability Beyond, one of Connecticut’s largest providers of disability assistance and services indicated that the funds will be used for the Pathways to Excellence Program which helps current employees gain additional certification in Direct Care by taking courses in a curriculum developed in partnership with the University of Minnesota.

“We are excited that the Fairfield County Community Foundation recognizes the value of this critical professional development and, through this grant, is helping us offer advancement opportunities for our front-line caregivers,” said Jane Davis, Ability Beyond’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are committed to offering opportunities for our team members to grow their careers while also having a direct and positive impact on others.”

Ability Beyond prides itself on having an employee turnover rate of only 18 percent while the industry average for direct care services stands at 50 percent.
