Conn. residents make Forbes billionaire list
The richest people on the planet includes 12 Connecticut residents, according to the new Forbes list of The World’s Billionaires.
All but one member of the group lives in Fairfield County, with the majority residing in Greenwich.
Ray Dalio, founder of hedge fund Bridgewater Associates L.P., was the only Connecticut resident to break the top 100 richest list. The Greenwich resident ranks as the 76 richest person in the world with a net worth of $12.5 billion.
Other Connecticut residents to make the list include several hedge fund and money management founders, as well as a hotel owner and the co-founder of Subway restaurants.
