Just call her Eris, goddess of discord. When Barbara Herman — vintage perfume lover, blogger (Yesterday”™s Perfume) and author (“Scent and Subversion:  Decoding a Century of Provocative Perfume”) ”“ was looking to launch her own collection in 2016, she decided to call the brand

ERIS PARFUMS,”¯after the Greek goddess of mischief-making.

“When I looked into the story of Eris, I saw a rebel with a sense of humor,” she writes in her gift sets. “Eris is one of the original bad girls. I like her style. She”™s my muse.”

Working with French perfumer Antoine Lie and inspired by Anaïs Nin”™s erotic novel “Delta of Venus,” Herman has just released a fragrance of the same name. “Delta of Venus” eau de parfum, in a 20% concentration, blends bergamot, grapefruit, guava, galbanum and jasmine sambac into what the press materials describe as the olfactory equivalent of forbidden Garden of Eden fruit that lets the Eve in you reclaim the garden.
