Pasta that doesn’t pack on the poundsÂ
Konjac noodles, or shirataki noodles ”“ which have about 20 calories, per bag ”“ are a great way to make you feel like you”™re eating real, genuine, full-freight, put-on-the-pounds pasta.
But I just discovered a new brand of shirataki noodles that should definitely be on your radar. It”™s called It”™s Skinny ”“ and an entire bag has just nine calories.
Konjac noodles are from a Southeast Asian vegetable root. It”™s Skinny has perfected the super shirataki noodle. It”™s also vegan, vegetarian, kosher, keto, gluten-free and non-GMO. It”™s got just two grams of carbohydrates, and two grams of fiber in a serving of a product that”™s sourced in China.
That means that you can serve It”™s Skinny noodles with a luscious, scrumptious sauce and never feel guilty. I love to pair mine with an excellent pasta sauce, for one of my favorite diet dinners.
And speaking of an excellent pasta sauce, I”™d say Carbone”™s award-winning jar”¯sauces ”¯use the same”¯fresh, quality ingredients found in their iconic restaurants. They feature imported Italian tomatoes, with no added sugar, and are OU kosher-certified.”¯These masterfully crafted sauces will transport you to the iconic”¯New York City restaurant without having to worry about getting a”¯reservation ”“ or even leaving your home. Just reach for the shelf and”¯crack open a jar. Instant magic.
For a delicious, guilt-free dinner, I pair the noodles with Gardein meatless meatballs, which are also tasty. Another great combination is to use Amylu chicken meatballs, which are made with roasted garlic, plus three cheeses ”“ Fontina, Parmesan and Pecorino Romano. They”™re just 40 calories each and absolutely dee-lish. (Amylu is also famous for its all-natural, nitrate-free chicken sausages.)
So splurge on these savvy new ways to watch your waistline shrink. And you can also use your It”™s Skinny noodles to make kugel. Check the website for the sweet recipe.
