Recently, Carmelo “Melo” Anthony, the former all-star member of the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, invited AD (formerly Architectural Digest) into his stylish new home in Westchester County.

After closing out his two-decades-long basketball career in May, the Brooklyn native felt it was time to relinquish his Chelsea digs to settle into a more spacious pad in the ’burbs.

“I love land; I love space,” he told AD. “Once you start getting out of the city and traveling and going to these other places, you realize that a 25- to 30-minute drive is not that far from the city.”

Teaming with New Jersey-based interior designer Cassandre Bonhomme, Anthony has created a “modern vintage” place that blends jewel colors with airy touches and a curving staircase with angular furnishings, the rooms graced by his extensive contemporary art collection.

Other highlights include a glamorous pool and deck, a bedroom converted into a giant closet for his equally vast shoe collection and a bathroom festooned with wallpaper that reproduces Andy Warhol’s Muhammad Ali portrait. It’s a tribute to one champ from another.  See Anthony’s Westchester home here.
