Medi Bistro opens in White Plains

The bar at the new Medi Bistro in White Plains.

Medi Bistro, now open in downtown White Plains, takes patrons through the flavorful dishes of eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines.

”¯Owned by developer Martin Ginsburg in partnership with restaurateur Par Shakiban, Medi Bistro is designed to offer a cultivated yet accessible, affordable experience for business lunches, romantic dinners or family gatherings on weekends.

”¯“I am very proud to introduce Medi Bistro, which celebrates the nostalgic cuisine of my childhood when I watched my mother prepare the most delicious Persian dishes,” said Shakiban. “The secret to this sophisticated cuisine is the use of fresh ingredients and genuinely fresh herbs, some of which are imported from the Middle East and India. I hope that our menu will satisfy the most sophisticated palates.”

”¯Medi Bistro”™s signature dinner dishes include dolmeh, grape leaves filled with vegetables, rice and herbs and topped with pomegranate sauce; khoresh bademjon, boneless lamb in herbed tomato sauce topped with baked eggplant and served with saffron basmati rice; and bamieh-zoolbia, a sweet, crunchy dessert fritter topped with rose-water syrup and pistachios.

”¯Shakiban has owned many restaurants, including Par”™s Steak & Seafood Houses in four locations in Westchester County since 1968. Previous ventures included Eclisse Northern Italian Cuisine in five locations in New York and Connecticut; Piatto Grill in Stamford; Brezza in Armonk; Pars Gourmet in Westchester County; and Laguna and Mediterraneo in White Plains and Connecticut.

”¯Medi Bistro is at 50 Main St., which Ginsburg Development Companies has transformed from offices into a mixed-use complex that includes residential and retail space as well as offices and restaurants.

”¯Medi Bistro is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday brunch is served until 3:30 p.m. For reservations, call 914-946-1232.
