Getting a jump on Mother’s DayÂ
With Mother”™s Day (Sunday, May 14) less than two weeks away, it”™s now or never if you want to make plans for floral deliveries, restaurant brunches or hotel getaways.
This Mother”™s Day season brings big news from Winston Flowers in Greenwich.
The business ”“ founded in 1944 by father-son duo Robert and Maynard Winston as a pushcart on Boston”™s stylish Newbury Street ”“ is resituating its Greenwich locale to 154 Prospect St. and will reopen Monday, May 8, in time for Mother”™s Day deliveries. During the transition, Winston will offer complimentary pickup/drop-off or curbside drop-off/pickup for clients with containers needing to be filled with florals or plants. Deliveries will continue without interruption.
With a larger design space at the new location, Winston Flowers Greenwich will expand its services to include floral design, home deÌcor, container plantings, weddings and special events. Residential and corporate services will include weekly flowers, interior and exterior container gardens, event centerpieces and displays, holiday deÌcor and personalized gifts.
The new location will feature one-of-a-kind flower arrangements designed by Winston Flowers”™ master florists, floral subscriptions, a variety of sweet and savory gourmet boxes, rare flowering plants and gifts, including specialty vases and vessels. Same-day flower delivery is available in Greenwich and throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties. The shop will also have a dedicated parking lot. Staying with Connecticut, the Delamar Hotel Greenwich Harbor, the Delamar Southport and the Delamar West Hartford all have Mother”™s Day menus.
The ”¯DELAMAR Greenwich Harbor Spa”¯ and”¯ DELAMAR Southport Spa”¯ will also be promoting facial and massage enhancements for the month of May.
On the Hudson River side of Westchester County, Apropos Restaurant & Bar at the Abbey Inn and Spa in Peekskill will have curated Mother”™s Day offerings. Mother”™s Day lunch costs $70 per person with more information at ”¯aproposrestaurant.com.
Meanwhile, Goosefeather in Tarrytown will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Mother”™s Day, serving its dinner menu, along with some specials such as”¯Smoked Salmon Fried Rice”¯with eight treasure spice and crème and”¯Spicy Salmon Tartare”¯with crispy rice cake, sambal aioli and pickled lotus root.
