FreshDirect spotlights Hispanic vendors

Through Oct. 15, FreshDirect is showcasing its appreciation for its Hispanic vendors and their productos deliciosos, all  available on the online grocers website. These brands are also highlighted on FreshDirects homepage in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. They include:  

Siponey: This beverage brand was founded by cocktail industry veteran Amanda Victoria and her partner, horticulturist and business operations expert Joey Mintz. So Siponey Spritz Co. is Latina, Afro-Latina and Jewish-owned and commits 2% of revenues annually to global environmental nonprofits dedicated to saving honeybees, one can at a time. (Siponeys ingredients, all from New York state, are wildflower honey, sparkling water, fresh lemon juice and rye whiskey.) The premium canned whiskey cocktail became available at FreshDirect this past spring.  

Tia Lupita Foods Used for centuries, the cactus is a superfood and one of the most sustainable plants on the planet. Tia Lupitas cactus tortilla chips are designed to have all the crunch and texture chip-lovers expect and pair well with salsa, guacamole, queso (melted cheese and chili peppers) or nachos.  

De La CalleCo-founder Rafael Martin del Campo was born and raised in Mexico  and works alongside partner Alex Matthews to bring their version of the traditional beverage, tepache, to people and cultures all over the world, including the customers of FreshDirect. The fermented, nonalcoholic drink comes in five flavors Original Ginger Manzana, Grapefruit Lime Paloma, Tradicional Pineapple Spice, Picante Mango Chili and Tamarind Citrus.  

Tucson Tamale: Todd and Sherry Martin, the husband-and-wife team behind Tucson Tamale, have been making award-winning tamales together since 2008. Raised in a loud and largeĀ Mexican family, Sherry learned how to cook from her relatives. They have handed down their tamale recipe from one generation to the next.
