The dramatically draped designs of Ukrainian-born couturier Alex Teih will be featured in a trunk show at Mary Jane Denzer in White Plains 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4. As we learned when we interviewed Teih (pronounced “Tay”) in 2017, the designer begins with a fabric, then divines what it”™s meant to be. High-low, off-the-shoulder black cocktail dresses in see-through horizontal stripes; dark columnar gowns and matching coats that cascade into pink-orange floral bouquets; ball gowns with asymmetrical necklines; bustier bodices; balloon skirts; dresses that spike the décolletage and drop the peblum from the waist to the hips ”“ they”™re all here in shimmering, figure-flattering fabrics.
