The 2022 watercolors “Meadow Series No. 1: Summer Flux” and “New England Asters” are among the works by Raine Gifford on view in “Days Like This,” at South Presbyterian Church”™s Donald Gallery through Feb. 26. Photographs by Raine Gifford.

The Donald Gallery at South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry is hosting a month-long, solo show featuring the works of Hastings-on-Hudson artist Raine Gifford through Feb. 26.

“The pieces in this collection of work, watercolor and acrylic, explore an evolving theme related to found moments in time and space,” Gifford said. “These moments represent aspects of strength, solace, reverie and reprieve. They express something of the balance between internal and external space; inside the self, and outside among the natural world – especially the garden. Some of the work is inspired directly by observed”¯still life or prompts; some by memory as well as by surprises of medium and process.””¯

“The Donald Gallery is honored to offer Raine Gifford her first solo show as an artist,” said Curator Donna Thompson. “Raine’s work is such a delight to the senses on many levels. Her subtle use of color and mastery of watercolors, her connection to plants and the sacredness of nature is a gift, especially during the long, bleak winter months. Her exhibition is an offering of hopeful reminders that spring will return.”

Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays. The Donald Gallery at South Presbyterian Church is at 343 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry. For more, click here
