The former general counsel of GE Transportation agreed to settle her gender-discrimination lawsuit against Fairfield-based General Electric Co.
Lorene Schaefer”™s May 2007 lawsuit attracted widespread attention, given Schaefer”™s senior position at GE Transportation and her attempt to seek class-action status in her case on behalf of other female GE employees.
GE and Schaefer did not disclose terms of the settlement, except to say that GE planned to take her views into account in planning its executive development programs.
GE Transportation is based in Erie, Pa.
