Eversource praised by Newsweek for corporate social responsibility efforts

While Eversource Energy may not have generated much love from Connecticut residents in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias in August, the utility is receiving praise from Newsweek magazine for its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Eversource greenwichFor the second consecutive year, Newsweek”™s annual consideration of corporate social responsibility ranked Eversource as #1 in the Energy & Utilities and 72nd out of 2,000 large public companies.

Eversource was praised for its commitment to carbon neutrality, support of utility-scale solar energy installations, investment in electric vehicle charging stations and its focus on clean energy development, including its partnership with Ørsted to bring offshore wind to the region.

“As this difficult year comes to an end, we wanted to recognize companies like Eversource that care about being good citizens and give back to their communities,” said Nancy Cooper, Newsweek’s global editor-in-chief.
