Dutchess chamber event on health, energy

Where to cut costs, where to cut costs ”¦

It”™s been a mantra of business for half the current century. Increasingly, businesses are

looking at their wall sockets and at their waistlines. Nationally, solar panels are going up

and the tire maker Michelin N.A. Inc. recently instituted a tiered insurance pay system

weighted heavily against the overweight and the hypertense.

The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce”™s Living Green Committee and its Health and

Wellness Club have noticed both the energy and the personal health trends. They will host a

“Living Green and Healthy Lifestyle” event 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 30, at the Aula Room at

Vassar College.

The event is free to attend and is open to the public.  To preregister, visit dcrcoc.org or

call (845) 454-1700 ext. 1000.

The morning session focuses on green energy and waste efficiency. It is scheduled to run

8 to 11:45 a.m. with a light breakfast. The symposium will feature expert presenters and ample

opportunity for give and take.

After a break for lunch, the healthy lifestyle event kicks off at 1 p.m. and follows a

similar presentation plus question-and-answer format.  To see the complete list of those

scheduled to appear, visit dcrcoc.org.
