Three Fairifeld County students named presidential scholars
Students from three Fairfield County schools were named US Presidential scholars on May 9. The recognition is given to graduating high school seniors to recognize their accomplishments in academics, arts, and career and technical fields.
All three recipients named from Connecticut attended public high schools in Fairfield County. They included Annika Fleur Emilia Mengwall of Darien High School, Cy J. Pavlov of Trumbull High School, and Leigh M. Foran of Staples High School in Westport.
Each year no more than 161 students are selected for the honor.
“I am excited to extend my congratulations to Annika, Cy, and Leigh on receiving this prestigious national honor in recognition of their academic achievements,” Governor Lamont said in a press release. “They represent some of the very best of Connecticut and we are proud to have such accomplished students representing our state. I look forward to witnessing their future educational and career accomplishments. Connecticut is home to some of the best schools in the nation, and that is due in large part to the incredible teachers and faculty we have in our state who dedicate themselves to providing our students with the highest-quality education possible.”
