Patricia Benson takes helm at Housatonic

The Connecticut State Community College’s Housatonic Campus (formerly Housatonic Community College) has new leadership in the form of Dr. Patricia Benson.

The state community college system appointed Benson to the role of CEO of the campus in Bridgeport per a July 29 announcement. She is tasked with overseeing the campus’s overall management and directing efforts to grow its facilities and better serve students in and around Bridgeport.

Benson is herself a first generation college graduate, providing her with additional perspective into what many students at the Housatonic campus face while pursuing their education. Before accepting the role she was vice president for finance and administration at Delaware County Community College.

“With her outstanding record of advancing student success and institutional excellence, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Benson as the new campus CEO of CT State Housatonic,” said CT State President O. John Maduko, M.D. “Her dedication to community engagement and inclusive excellence perfectly complements our mission, ensuring that we continue to innovate and serve the greater Bridgeport region effectively.”
