New scholarship established for Hyde Park Central School District students

Bellefield at Historic Hyde Park, a hospitality and residential destination currently under construction, has established a $500,000 scholarship program to benefit graduating seniors at Hyde Park Central School District in financial need.

The Bellefield-Mulroy Family Scholarship Fund was established in a community benefit agreement between Bellefield and the school district. The fund will provide $25,000 a year for 20 years, and scholarships will be available to students pursuing a degree in either education, STEM studies, fine and performing arts, or the culinary arts. Recipients must attend a two-year or four-year college or university or vocational school in New York State.

“By establishing this generous scholarship, Bellefield at Historic Hyde Park will make Hyde Park an even more attractive place to raise a family,” said Hyde Park Town Supervisor Alfred Torreggiani. “The education of our youth always must be paramount and this scholarship – along with opportunities to eventually experience, learn from and potentially seek careers at Bellefield’s many attractions – are superb investments in our future.”

Bellefield at Historic Hyde Park is a $1 billion tourism destination under development on Route 9, across from the Culinary Institute of America. Plans call for development of two hotels, a conference center, free-standing and inline signature restaurants, brewery, winery, a spa, culinary-based retail establishments and residential units.
