New audio-visual technology program coming to Norwalk’s District Music Hall

The New Haven Center for Performing Arts at Norwalk’s District Music Hall has partnered with Factory Underground Tech to launch a new educational course in audio visual technology. Students will be offered the chance to master the technology and develop practical skills at a professional live concert venue.

Operating lights, learning live sound mixing, audio engineering, videography and video editing will all be part of the curriculum. Two scholarship opportunities will also be made available for Norwalk residents.

Ethan Isaac, a Factory Underground tech, said that the program “will combine aspects of scientific, theoretical, artistic, and practical aspects of audio, lighting, and video in a fun and interactive learning space that is District Music Hall.”

Students will take classes during the day, and have the opportunity to apply what they learn during live concerts and theatrical productions at the District Music Hall.

“We couldn’t ask for a more fitting partnership in the local area to align with the courses that we teach at Factory Underground Tech,” said Factory Underground’s co-owner Kenny Cascioli.
