Westport offering free seminar to promote Connecticut tourism

The Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free seminar at 9 a.m. April 7 at Westport Town Hall on promoting Westport and the area as a tourist destination, as part of the state”™s new tourism initiative.

Utilizing social media and a revamped CTVisit.com website that will be completely content-driven by venues, businesses and attractions in the state, the initiative includes buying advertisement from New York to Boston to promote Connecticut”™s accessibility and array of attractions. The new site launched April 4.

Speaking at the seminar will be Felicia Lindau, vice president at marketing agency Adams & Knight, who is the lead consultant on social media to the state”™s effort. Janet Serra, executive director of the CT Convention and Visitors Bureau will also speak. First Selectman of Westport Jim Marpe will give an opening address.
