U.S. adds 1.8 million jobs in 2012
The United States added 1.8 million jobs in 2012, according to a new report.
The latest numbers show about 155,000 jobs were added in December, however the unemployment rate remained at 7.8 percent this month, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Throughout the year, employment growth averaged 153,000 jobs a month, which was the same as it was in 2011.
Health care, food services, construction and manufacturing continued to add jobs in December while transportation, financial activities, business services and government remained essentially unchanged.
