Online job board’s postings drop 2 percent in October

Job postings on FairfieldCountyJobs.com declined 2 percent in October after a strong September, the Norwalk-based online job board reported Nov. 7.

The administrative field and medical and accounting areas saw the highest volume of job postings in October, according to FairfieldCountyJobs.com.

Job postings for companies based in the Stamford area increased 30 percent in October, the website reported, noting that Greenwich and Westport were also “hot markets” for job seekers.

“The continued market strength suggests a greater level of job market stabilization that continues in (the fourth quarter of) 2012,” said David Lewis, CEO of Norwalk-based AllCountyJobs.com, which includes FairfieldCountyJobs.com, in a prepared statement.

Lewis said significant market events, including Hurricane Sandy, the election and the upcoming fiscal cliff could all impact hiring in the coming months.

AllCountyJobs.com comprises a network of local and industry-specific online job boards across the Northeast corridor.
