CT home sales up 14.2 percent in January

Single-family home sales in Connecticut experienced a 14.2 percent year-over-year spike in January, according to data released by Connecticut Realtors. There were 2,307 homes sold last month, compared with 2,020 in January 2016.

The state”™s townhouse and condominium market also enjoyed healthy sales activity in January with a 23.7 percent year-over-year increase. There were 579 sold last month compared with 468 sold one year earlier.

The single-family residential home median sales price in Connecticut for January was $235,000, a 2.2 percent increase from the $230,000 level reached in January 2016. The median sales price for townhouses and condominiums last month was $155,000, up 4.4 percent from $148,500 in January 2016.
