ADP reports businesses added 162,000 jobs in Sept.
U.S. private sector employers are projected to have added 162,000 new jobs in September, according to a report released Oct. 3 by payroll services firm Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Inc.
The report comes just days before the U.S. Commerce Department is scheduled to release its September employment data, with economists surveyed by the Financial Times projecting an increase of 113,000 nonfarm jobs.
The sample used to develop the ADP report was derived from a subset of ADP’s approximately 500,000 U.S. business clients.
