Video security company expanding to Bridgeport
In a joint effort with parent company ACG Group, A+ Technology & Security Solutions Inc., a Bay Shore-based video security and technology company, is renovating 7,000 square feet of commercial space in Bridgeport in preparation for its new headquarters, new security command center and STEM education technology manufacturing facility.
According to A+, the opening of the facility at 1027 Fairfield Ave. signals the first step in creating a high-tech ecosystem within Bridgeport by which technology manufactured there can educate young people, provide internship opportunities to high school and college students, and provide career opportunities to the community”™s technology-savvy graduates.
“From our new facility, we will provide our industry-leading security services to clients in the region, and we will develop and build STEM education technology products,” David Antar, president and founder of A+ Technology and Security Solutions, said. “Our efforts will create an ecosystem where we will hire and train more than 20 local people and interns and bring them up to speed with our proprietary technology.”
The new hires are expected to be in the fields of security system installation specialists, IT engineers and software developers.
A+ will be the only tenant in the building, which is expected to open for business in October and will be fully operational in January 2016.
In 2014, A+ worked with the City of Bridgeport to secure and reopen the historic 71-acre Pleasure Beach peninsula. The site, dormant since 1996, is now an recreation destination. A state-of-the-art integrated video surveillance system, designed not to disturb the native wildlife, was installed.
