SBA awards Connecticut $200K to encourage export-related endeavors
The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) was awarded a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help provide small businesses with the information and tools they need to succeed in export-related activities.
The activities covered by the grant include participating in foreign trade missions, market sales trips, designing international marketing campaigns, participating in export trade show exhibits, and attending training workshops, as well as other means of engagement. The grant is part of the SBA’s $20 million funding for state-level international trade agencies.
“Exporting is an important system for increasing our economy both locally and nationally,” said SBA Connecticut District Director Catherine Marx. “Connecticut’s small businesses can use these funds to expand their business into the global market. I encourage our businesses to apply as soon as possible as this grant program is very popular and funds tend to go quickly.”
