Attendance at Westchester County’s Playland Amusement Park increased by about 36% in the 2026 summer season over what it had been in 2025, the first season for the county to be operating the park following the departure of Standard Amusements as operator, prompting Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins to declare, “Playland is back, and its future is bright.”
The county calculates 2026 season total attendance at 320,708, with additional attendance including for the Scared by the Sound event to take place for Halloween later in October to be added in. In 2025, attendance was 235,210. There were 171,677 wristbands sold in 2026. The wristbands allow admission along with unlimited rides. In 2025, there were 93,415 wristbands sold.

For 2025, the county reported Playland admissions revenue was $1,311,709.89 with admissions revenue for the beach and pool of $533,307.76.
“We are exceedingly proud of the 2026 numbers thus far and of just how far Playland has come,” Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said. “After Standard Amusements abandoned the park in 2025, leaving it in disarray, Westchester County stepped in with a commitment to restore, rebuild and bring Playland back to the place generations of families know and love. This summer certainly tested us. We faced extreme heat, heavy rain and even wildfire smoke – but through it all, Playland carried on, and we made the Summer 2026 season one to remember.”
Jenkins thanked the Playland regular staff and the seasonal workers as well as “all of Playland’s devoted enthusiasts, including Friends of Rye Playland and the group’s President Robin Latimer, for their love of this iconic park. Their passion, advocacy and tireless support help keep the spirit of Playland alive and ensure it continues to be celebrated for generations to come.”
Jenkins continued, “We look forward to closing out this incredible season with Scared by the Sound, and then turning our attention to 2027. Next year, we will once again open Playland’s gates so another generation of Westchester children can experience the rides, the cotton candy, the sunshine and the simple magic of a summer day at Playland. Playland is back, and its future is bright.”
