Bluefish lineup features new food company
Food and a ballgame have been going together since the Bambino was a bambino and now the Bridgeport Bluefish are promising a “dynamic improvement” in offerings via a five-year contract with G-2 Sport Catering.
The Bluefish have signed a five-year agreement with G-2 Sport Catering, which will operate all concessions at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard beginning this year. The season home opener is April 28 vs. the New Britain Bees.
“We have listened to our fans who have asked us to improve the diversity and quality of the food and beverage service at the ballpark,” said Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole in a prepared statement announcing the agreement. “We believe this partnership with G-2 Sport will deliver a dynamic improvement to Bluefish fans who visit The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in 2016.”
The main concourse inside the ballpark will feature themed stands with facades to match and will include Uncle G’s BBQ ”“ home to award-winning pulled pork and chili ”“ and The Healthy Nut. Uncle G’s BBQ made its debut at the ballpark in 2015. The Healthy Nut will feature gluten-free sandwiches, among other healthy options. Other food stands will be announced at a future date.
“Our focus is on bringing back the local feel and flavor of the region to the Bluefish fan base,” says G-2 Sport partner Michael Grob. “We will emphasize customer service, catering to both the season ticket holders and first timers alike. We want those first timers coming back again and again.”
G-2 will also oversee catering in the luxury and party suites, in the Boar”™s Head picnic area and in the Harbor Club.
