Absolute Logic buys Norwalk IT firm
Wilton-based Absolute Logic, which has provided technical support and technology consulting services for companies of up to 250 employees for 25 years, said recently it has acquired Norwalk-based IT firm Cloud9-IT.
Al Alper, a resident of Wilton, founded and has been at the helm of Absolute Logic since its inception in 1991.
Alper did not disclose the acquisition price, but said that the two company owners had been in talks for the last six months. Under the terms of their agreement, Cloud9-IT”™s assets and client bases will merge into Absolute Logic”™s.
Cloud9-IT, founded in 2010 by Lars Andersson of New Canaan, serves the IT needs of businesses in Fairfield and New Haven counties. Absolute Logic identified its catchment area as New York and Connecticut.
Andersson will fill the role of business development specialist for Absolute Logic. An additional IT support person from Cloud9-IT will join the Absolute Logic team also.
Alper said the transition should be seamless for the Cloud9-IT clients.
“Other than receiving correspondence under the Absolute Logic name, much of the day-to-day interaction for the clients will be no different,” Alper said in the statement announcing the deal. “Those who are used to working with Lars will of course continue to do so. What we will offer additionally is extra tech support and resources, which we believe will make an already excellent client experience even better.”
Alper plans an open house later this year where clients can meet the expanded team and tour the Wilton facility.
Prior to launching Absolute Logic, Alper was the founder of MyReceivables, an online factoring/financial services company, and of People Capital, a financial services platform for students looking to finance college educations.
Cloud9-IT specializes in IT services for accounting, dentistry and manufacturing firms.
“I”™ve been involved in IT and Small Business consulting and system engineering since the inception of the PC,” Andersson said. “My career has spanned a full range of services including network design to support, implementation, sales, purchasing and ultimately culminating as a business owner. I”™ve been looking for a firm to merge or partner with for some time. And I never could find the right fit until now. Al and I share the same philosophy of customer service, and I am very comfortable moving my client base over to Absolute Logic. I know that the added resources of our working together will greatly benefit all of our clients.”
