GE lands $10B in aviation orders

General Electric Co. announced $10 billion in orders for its GE Aviation unit following the Dubai Air Show in the United Arab Emirates.

GE has its headquarters in Fairfield; GE Aviation is based in Cincinnati.

Deals included:

Ӣ Saudi Arabian Airlines signed a $1.4 billion deal for materials and overhaul services on GE engines it owns.

Ӣ Dubai Aerospace ordered $1.7 billion in engines for 85 passenger jets and freighters from Boeing Co.

Ӣ Qatar Airways ordered $1.2 billion in engines for 35 Boeing aircraft, and is paying $2.5 billion for maintenance work.

Ӣ Emirates ordered $1.5 billion in engines for a dozen aircraft each from Airbus and Boeing and signed a $3 billion maintenance deal with the Engine Alliance partnership between GE and East Hartford-based Pratt & Whitney.

Ӣ Aviation Lease and Finance Co. chose GEӪs GEnx engine for its Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order.
