ICE agents conduct operation in Sleepy Hollow

Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Jan. 28 staged an action in the Village of Sleepy Hollow in Westchester County. A source told the Business Journal that the agents were looking for two people described as illegal immigrants. The agents went to a residence and knocked on the door but no one answered. The Business Journal was told that the agents did not have a warrant and did not enter the premises.

Cell phone photographs taken by witnesses showed a group of approximately a half dozen ICE agents in uniform and wearing protective gear standing on a sidewalk in the village.

ICE in both Washington and New York did not respond to several attempts by the Business Journal seeking further details of the Sleepy Hollow operation and confirmation of reports that there had been other ICE agent activity in Westchester County.
