Philips Personal Care North America, the Stamford-based division of the Dutch-based Royal Philips, is introducing four limited-edition “Star Wars”-inspired shavers to promote the Dec. 15 release of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
The product line includes the SW9700, which combines a Dark Side-worthy red to black gradient with a hexagonal patterning and a First Order logo power button; the SW6700, which the company insists is designed to mimic “the complex nature of Poe Dameron’s X-wing fighter, down to the scratched metal finishing, red stripes and a red X-wing symbol that flickers during use”; the SW3700, which the company claims is inspired by “R2-D2’s mannerisms with a blinking on/off light and paneling up and down the body”; and the SW170, which is designed to resemble a Storm Trooper.
“Now, you can unleash the force in shaving and be your best you,” claimed Sasha Markovic, senior director marketing at Philips Personal Care North America.
However, the company did not say whether the shavers will work on Wookies, Ewoks or other hirsute beings in that galaxy far, far away.
