St. Vincent’s begins work on Stratford facility
St. Vincent”™s Health Services recently broke ground on its new two-story medical building at 3272 Main St. in Stratford.
The building will house St. Vincent”™s new urgent care walk-in center and Stratford Medicine, one of St. Vincent”™s multispecialty group practices. St. Vincent”™s Medical Center, a 473-bed teaching hospital and trauma center, is on Main Street in Bridgeport.
Attendees at the groundbreaking included Stratford Mayor John Harkins; Frank Scifo, medical director of St. Vincent”™s Urgent Care Medicine/St. Vincent”™s MultiSpecialty Group Inc.; and John and Eleanor Bigley, principals of the landlord, 3272 Main Associates L.L.C.
St. Vincent”™s will occupy the majority of the 20,000-square-foot structure (and most of the first floor) with its urgent care walk-in facility and the moving of its Stratford Medicine primary care practice currently at 2595 Main St.
Both the walk-in and Stratford Medicine will be housed on the first floor of the building with some specialty services affiliated with St. Vincent”™s MultiSpecialty Group to be offered later in a section of the second floor.
The landlord is seeking additional tenants for the remainder of the space.
The exterior of the building will feature clapboard and brick in keeping with the historic ambience of the area.
The urgent care center will employ one physician and four additional staff members, while Stratford Medicine has on staff one physician, Charles Bruce-Tagoe, and three support staff.
The St. Vincent”™s Urgent Care Center will offer treatment of nonlife-threatening illness and injuries and the likes of physical exams for school, camp and employment.
It will have complete diagnostic services, including lab, EKG and X-ray and will give patients access to an extensive network of health providers. No appointment is necessary.
St. Vincent”™s also maintains urgent care walk-in centers in Bridgeport, Monroe, Shelton and Fairfield with hours of Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and 9 a.m. to 5.p.m., Saturdays and Sundays.
