Residence Inn by Marriott set to open next month in South Norwalk
The Residence Inn by Marriott-SoNo in South Norwalk is set to open in May, according to an announcement on its website. An exact date was not immediately available.
Construction on the eight-floor hotel began about two years ago. Located at 45 S. Main St., the hotel will feature 102 extended-stay suites, each with full kitchens. Gathering areas will include a ground-floor lobby and mezzanine space, rooftop terrace with views of Norwalk Harbor, lobby bar, business center and a market.
In addition, 1,000 square feet of meeting and function space is available for groups of up to 40.
Originally scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2018, the SoNo Residence Inn was developed by Stamford firm FD Rich. The chain also underwent a delayed opening process of a Residence Inn on Atlantic Street in Stamford after original developer Seaboard Properties went bankrupt. Boston-based commercial real estate investment firm UC Funds eventually acquired that property, which is managed by Urgo Hotels & Resorts of Bethesda, Maryland.
Other Residence Inn locations in the county include Danbury and Shelton.
