Installed Building Products acquires U.S. Insulation
U.S. Insulation Corp., a Danbury and Berlin-based insulation company, was recently acquired by Installed Building Products, a national insulation installer based in Ohio.
U.S. Insulation installs fiberglass and spray-foam insulation. It also installs gutters and waterproofing products. Most of the company’s clients are in Hartford and Danbury.
Installed Building Products is expected to retain U.S.’s 65 employees. U.S. Insulation’s former president John Toconis said the deal came at a good time for the smaller company because of the changing world of insulation regulations.
“All the codes and insulation requirements are changing dramatically,” Toconis said. “It’s getting more complicated and technical every day, and being involved in a larger company allows for more training and developing all the mechanisms to run a more efficient operation.”
He said his company is joining 3,600 employees at Installed Building Products.
“We think it’s the perfect match,” Toconis said. “Relationship builds capacity. With this relationship, we will explore opportunities to expand further into Fairfield,  Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties.”
Installed Building Products has about 100 locations across 32 states and also installs rain gutters, garage doors, fireplaces and mirrors.
The Danbury company reported net revenue of $9 million last year, Toconis said.
