Among those attending the event include state Sen. Andrea Stewart Cousins, Assemblymembers Thomas J. Abinanti and Shelly Mayer, project donors, community center officials from throughout Westchester County and officials from the center’s board of governors.

JCC RenderingJewish Community Center on the Hudson Director of Public Relations Lori Robinson said the new location will include expanded recreation activities including a new fitness center, pool, playing field and locker room. Also in the plans are a cafe, auditorium and more space for administrative offices.

The organization launched a $7 million fundraising campaign in 2014 to cover the construction costs. An estimated schedule for construction was not immediately available.

The center, which celebrated its 85th anniversary last year, has occupied its current 17,000-square-foot former medical office building since 1995. The non-profit organization offers social, recreation and educational programs.
