White House confirms Biden due in Westchester
The White House has confirmed that tomorrow, Thursday, President Biden will make a stop in Westchester County to attend a fundraiser. It is widely anticipated that Biden will visit the Irvington home of actor Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones for the fundraising event.
Douglas and Zeta-Jones are among the hosts of the event. Others include Rodge and Barbara Cohen, Bob Goodman and Jayne Lipman, Eileen Fisher, and John Shapiro and Shonni Silverberg. Contributions to serve as a host of the event are set at $100,000 with a general admission ticket priced at $3,300. The proceeds will benefit the Biden Victory Fund.
Biden will appear earlier in the day in Syracuse, where he will have made a speech dealing with how the CHIPS and Science Act and his Investing in America agenda are growing the economy and creating jobs in Central New York and communities across the country. The federal government confirmed that the company Micron will receive a $6.1 billion federal grant under the CHIPS program to help fund its construction of a $100 million semiconductor plant in the area. After the event in Syracuse, the president will fly on board Air Force One to the New York City area and then proceed to Irvington for the fundraiser.
