New Rochelle city manager resigns

Kathleen Gill

New Rochelle City Manager Kathleen Gill has resigned. The New Rochelle City Council held a special session yesterday at which her resignation was accepted.

The city plans to hire an executive search firm to conduct a nationwide search for a successor. Deputy City Manager Adam Salgado has become acting city manager until a permanent replacement is chosen.

“Kathleen Gill has submitted her letter of resignation in order to pursue other opportunities,” according to the city’s Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert. Ramos-Herbert said that Gill expressed gratitude for her 27 years of service to the city and pride in having worked with so many hard-working and dedicated city employees.

“We thank Kathleen for her service to the City of New Rochelle and wish her the best in her future endeavors,” Ramos-Herbert said. “As we begin the search for her successor, the City of New Rochelle remains committed to a comprehensive and transparent search process to identify the next city manager.”
