Westport jewelry store robbed Thursday afternoon
At 3:10pm on May 9 two masked men with hammers walked into the Lux, Bond, and Green shop on Westport’s Main Street.
Employees moved to the back of the store and avoided interaction as the men took hammers to several display cases, pulled aside the shattered glass, and removed the jewelry.
Although the store is further back from the road than many shops along the busy commercial street, the robbery was brazen and unexpected on a Thursday afternoon.
After grabbing the contents of several display cases the masked men left the store and made their getaway in a black BMW sedan, reportedly heading east towards Fairfield on Post Road East.
Westport police are seeking any information that might be relevant to the case and encourage anybody with information regarding the assailants or the robbery to call the Westport Detective Bureau at (203) 341-6080.
