Overlooking the Hudson River in Croton-on-Hudson is a 106-plus acre estate with historic business ties, one with sweeping lawns, formal English gardens, specimen trees, cottages, equestrian facilities and rolling pastures that undoubtedly inspired its name – Rolling Stone Farm.
The farm, 99 Quaker Bridge Road, was sold May 22 by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ Will Stuart, the top producing agent for the company’s New England Properties, who represented the buyer and seller in the transaction. The final price was $5,625,000.

Upstairs, the primary bedroom suite makes the most of vaulted ceilings, a walk-in closet, a fireplace and a marble bath. Down the hall, there are two en-suite guest rooms, a large office and a TV room. There is also a four-car garage with an attached two-bedroom guest annex and full bath. In all, there are five bedrooms and seven bathrooms – five full and two half baths.

Once home to more than 20 horses, the farm features an 1800s bank barn with a tack room, a feed room, a wash stall, a hayloft, a workshop, a two-bedroom grooms’ apartment, an irrigated outdoor riding arena with Lawton Adams footing, an eight-horse hot walker and several paddocks with run-in sheds, water and electricity. The property also includes riding trails with direct access to the Croton Aqueduct hiking path. Fully fenced and gated, the estate couples privacy with accessibility to New York City, nearby parks and all of the amenities the Hudson Valley has to offer.
