SHU School of Communication, Media & the Arts makes PRNEWS A-List
Sacred Heart University’s School of Communication, Media & the Arts was recognized by PRNEWS as one of the country’s best educational programs for a career in communications and public relations.
Fairfield’s Sacred Heart was named to the Education A-List after PRNEWS staffers examined the curriculums, diversity levels, faculty composition and academic awards earned by colleges and universities across the country.
“Sacred Heart is a hidden gem right in the New England-New York area,” Foluke Omosun, director of the university’s strategic communications and public relations master’s program (SCPR) said. “It’s wonderful to be recognized for the work we do molding our students into young professionals—conscious citizens who will go out and impact our communities.”
The SCPR Program at Sacred Heart University emphasizes in-depth presentations, and the development of campaigns and writing across different media platforms. Omosun also believes that the emphasis on technology, which includes training with artificial intelligence programs and a MacBook Pro with an Adobe subscription for every graduate enhanced the course and made it stand out to PRNEWS.
Mark Beekey, College of Arts & Sciences dean, is pleased SHU’s strategic communication and public relations program has been recognized among the top in the country. “This recognition highlights our faculty’s dedication to creating innovative courses that blend disciplinary knowledge, technical skills and professional experiences that prepare our students to become leaders in ever-evolving industries and professions,” he said.
