New Canaan group’s survey to gauge community’s health, well-being

NEW CANAAN – The New Canaan Behavioral Health Alliance has launched a survey seeking input from community members on their thoughts about their health and well-being.

In a letter to the editor to the New Canaanite, Colleen Prostor, executive director of New Canaan CARES asks readers to participate in the 5-minute survey between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31.

“As a community, we all play a role in promoting the health and well-being of New Canaan. To better understand the needs and challenges facing residents of all ages, the New Canaan Behavioral Health Alliance (NCBHA) has launched an important Health and Well-Being Survey, and we are looking for 100% New Canaan participation!” she wrote.

“This survey is for all residents ages 18+. This survey is designed to provide valuable insights into the mental, emotional, and physical health of our community. The results will help guide future initiatives, services, and programs that address the most pressing concerns in areas such as stress, mental health, substance use, and overall wellness.”

The information gathered will remain confidential and will be used solely to benefit the community as a whole, Prostor wrote.

The New Canaan Behavioral Health Alliance (NCBHA) – a coalition of more than 30 local organizations dedicated to increasing community awareness of behavioral health resources – will work with data professionals and NCBHA members to share the results through public events and online at NewCanaanBHA.org.
