5 West Putnam Avenue, a striking brick building situated at the intersection of West Putnam Avenue and Greenwich Avenue, the town’s iconic shopping street, was listed for sale on June 24 by M.H. Heaven Real Estate.

Locally referred to as “The Chateau” according to the listing on Loopnet, the brick Tudor style building has commanding views of Greenwich Avenue from its location at the top of the hill and the north end of the commercial corridor. Only the two story retail and office space is for sale at $5.85 million. The adjoining seven story condominium tower, is not for sale.

The listing notes that the property consists of 10 commercial condominium units, mostly occupied including five prime retail spaces on the ground floor are fully leased, along with two of the four office spaces overlooking West Putnam Avenue.

One of the office spaces for lease includes the distinctive turret overlooking the corner of West Putnam and Lafayette Court.
