Hartford HealthCare opens walk-in clinics in Walgreens, plans on Norwalk location

Last week Hartford HealthCare opened three Hartford Healthcare at Walgreens locations, offering walk-in clinical service at pharmacies in Enfield, East Lyme, and Putnam.

According to a press release from Hartford HealthCare, this represents the first collaboration of its kind between a retail pharmacy and a health system in all of New England, and will advance “a unique retail health model based on convenience, access to care, affordability and health equity.”

“Hartford HealthCare is intent on changing the way healthcare is delivered, and this collaboration with Walgreens is another example of the variety of convenient offerings and care settings we are adding,” said Jeffrey A. Flaks, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hartford HealthCare. “Our organizations are working together to combine resources and best practices to create an innovative retail health environment that meets consumers’ needs and exceeds their expectations.”

Further expansion of the collaboration is planned in the near future. Plans are in place for additional clinics to open in Manchester, and at the Walgreens at 235 Main Street in Norwalk.
