Danbury Street Festival to return June 1

Danbury’s Main Street will be closed from 9am to 7pm on Saturday June 1 for the Danbury Street Festival.

“As part of our ongoing revitalization efforts in downtown Danbury, the Danbury Street Festival will shine a spotlight on the gems that are the core components of our community and beyond,” said organizers in a press release.

The Street Festival is part of CityCenter Danbury’s efforts to benefit local businesses and property owners by supporting cultural and arts events that contribute to revitalizing the city’s downtown area.

The kid-friendly event will feature food and booths hosted by  the Danbury Hackerspace, Danbury Railway Museum, artists, vendors, and community organizations of all stripes.

The city’s diverse heritage will be represented on stage by musical and theater performances ranging from Flamenco dances and Indian drama performances to blues, rock, and the Bethel Ukelele Group. 11 breweries will participate in a mobile tap room providing adult entertainment.
