Connecticut’s community colleges ranked third best in US

WalletHub’s latest report on community college systems placed the Connecticut Community College System (CT State) in its top three for the third consecutive year.

“This ranking reflects our steadfast commitment to delivering affordable, high-quality education that positions students for successful careers,” said CT State President John Maduko, M.D. “As families across the state grapple with rising costs, our community college offers a valuable alternative, enabling students to achieve their academic goals without sacrificing quality or future opportunities,” he continued. “We remain dedicated to supporting our students and their aspirations, helping them maximize their educational investment.”

The study compared 653 community colleges from across the country on 18 different metrics including cost, education outcomes, and career outcomes.

CT State was founded in 2023 through the merger of 12 separate community colleges across the state, making it the largest community college in the Northeast and the sixth largest in the country with over 64,000 students.
