Westchester companies again rank among state’s top 50
An Ardsley-based biotechnology company has been named one of the 50 best companies to work for in New York for the third consecutive year.
A Mount Kisco-based manufacturer of electric vehicle instruments and controllers also is a repeat recipient in the annual Best Companies to Work for – New York awards announced by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management.
Three Hudson Valley companies also made the 2013 list.
Acorda Therapeutics Inc. in Ardsley, which develops and markets drugs used to treat patients with multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders, ranked among 20 top large employers with more than 250 employees in the statewide survey. The survey gauges employee satisfaction and engagement as well as workplace practices and policies.
Curtis Instruments, a business founded in Mount Kisco in 1960, also was ranked among the state”™s best large employers. Curtis Instruments also was honored with the award in 2011.
Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union in Poughkeepsie and Quick Chek Corp. in Newburgh also placed among the state”™s top 50 in the large employer category.
Access Physical Therapy and Wellness in Goshen was among 30 small and medium employers with 15 to 249 employees named to the 2013 list.
Companies’ order of ranking within the two employer categories will be announced at a public awards dinner in Albany on April 30.
The 2013 awards are sponsored by Jackson Lewis L.L.P., a national employment and labor law firm headquartered in White Plains, and Capital District Physicians”™ Health Plan.
