Small business finance workshops begin Feb. 11
The Community Economic Development Fund will host a two-part small business finance workshop in Stamford Feb. 11 and Feb. 12 to teach business owners how to set up an accounting system.
The $30 course will cover how to maximize profits, understand financial statements and make income projections. The event will be held at Four Landmark Square from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. both evenings.
Beginning Feb. 18, workshop participants will also be able to attend a four-session series on Quickbooks Pro at Stamford’s Ferguson Library for $260. Participants will receive their own copy of the software to keep.
The Community Economic Development Fund is a statewide nonprofit that lends to small business owners who traditionally wouldn’t be eligible for a bank loan. Part of the fund’s mission includes providing clients with the skills and support they need to become more “bankable” operations.
Similar finance workshops will be held in Bridgeport come March.
